A day out at

We had some AMAZING costumes in Class 1 today - WELL DONE!

Can you spot your child?

A tree for all seasons.

We have our very own tree outside of Class 1 that changes with the seasons.

In Autumn the children were learning how the leaves change colour and fall off the branches ready for winter.  We listened to the sounds which were made as the wind blew through the branches and when we walked over the leaves.  Each child then wrote their own poem about AUTUMN LEAVES.

Winter, as you can see the tree is bare just waiting for spring to come so it can be brought back to life again.

We had a fantastic morning with the 'UpBeats' learning about the different families in the Orchestra!

Our Islam visitor

We had a fantastic start to our morning today in Class 1 when Lyra's mum came in to play her guitar and sing for use.

She told us about the group she's in and also showed us the famous signatures on her guitar of Tori Amos, Willy Mason and K T Tunstall.

Our morning continued to be FUN with a visit from Jessie's mum who brought in some of their many animals from home.

The children, and adults, had the opportunity to see and stroke the animals and most even braved having BOOV the Boa Constrictor around their necks!!

We learnt that Boov - the Boa Constrictor, Bruce - the Bosc Monitor Lizard and Rocky - the Red Footed Tortoise are all REPTILES

and that Lavender - the Skunk is a MAMMAL and that she likes nibbling toes...

A big THANKYOU to both of our parents for coming into school this morning and making our learning so special.

We had a walk around our local area to spot what types of houses we could see - terraced, semi-detached, detached, bungalows and flats.

Some of the children even managed to point out their own house!

Creating basic 2D shapes out of Lolly sticks with an extra challenge of making more complex shapes such as pentagons and hexagons.
